Post Production
This is the process where colour correction, visual effects and 3D elements are added in to any given film. This is usually done to ‘finish off’ films by giving it the right mood by adding a different ‘colour tint’ to it and by adding visual effects, such as explosions, smoke and debris.
We at square edge are proud to have worked on numerous different projects from BBC commissioned shows & pilots, to award winning short films, both 3D and feature film mediums. We work with a number of different agencies and groups within the marketing, advertising, music, film and broadcasting industries, providing a range of industry standard post production services such as colour grading, green screening, video editing and VFX simulations.
We have used various types of imitated simulations in the past such as 3D destruction, particles, water and cloth sim to name a few.
Our team specialise in colour grading raw film footage to a broadcast quality standard – we are happy to visit clients on shoot locations with our equipment, in order to communicate ideas and offer advice and guidance whilst filming as so to ensure the post production process runs as smooth as possible.
Visual Effects
Digital Special FX are computer generated effects added on top of the footage during the post-production stage. This could be anything from a few speckles of rain on the lens to a nuclear explosion, with blowing debris shooting across the screen. They can be added to any film medium whether it be live footage to 3D animations.
Most of these are created through digital simulation often involving millions of tiny computer generated particles flowing together to create a realistic effect. Other Digital Special FX include physical simulation, where 3D models are given true to life properties such as weight, elasticity and density to react with one and other as they would in the real world.
3D Digital Animation
We at Square Edge, and most of our services we provide, actually have roots in 3D Animation. We work with a range of media agencies to produce high quality 3D animations whether it be for a viral web advert, TV commercials or short films.
A select few of our past projects we have created and helped to produce, have all gone on to win multiple prestigious animation and filmatic awards worldwide.
